PROFESSOR DORA AKUNYILI DIES AT AGE 59.

Prof Dora Akunyili, one time Director General of  The National Food and Drug Administration Council (NAFDAC), is dead after suffering for long from an undisclosed sickness. A close family member disclosed this.
According to Sahara Reporters, who were the first to break the news, the family member said, she died in an Indian hospital where she was receiving treatment for her ailment.
Dora Akunyili was one of the many blessings to Nigerians at the time when she was the D.G of NAFDAC. She fought hard for the elimination of adulterated drugs and products in the county, and succeeded exceedingly well, even though it was not easy. For this, Nigerians will forever be thankful.

Earlier this year, pictures of her drastic weight-loss where released when she attended a national event, and it was obvious she was sick. She still appeared and made herself useful and convinced the Nigerian public that she was recovering well. Even in her lowest, she was still fighting. She died a fighter and a believer for a greater better Nigeria.

With this, I send my condolences to her family, friends and colleagues, may the good Lord grant them the fortitude to bear this loss. Amen.
